Host Lissa Kreisler learns all about this community food pantry from Director Jan Yount. They serve approximately 70 families including homeless, elderly and a third Los Gatos residents. House of Hope prides themselves in giving more than just food to those in need... they also provide mentors to people to help them get out of poverty.

Host Lissa Kreisler learns that 12-year old, Shea Elmore, has only been running for two years and is already a 2-year national cross country champion. Her coach at the Los Gatos Track Club, Willie Harmatz, is very proud of her accomplishments and nominated her for Lissa's show on KCAT! Shea and Coach Willie met at his store in Los Gatos, Athletic Performance, while she was trying on running shoes... needless to say, he saw her potential and his instinct was right.

EATING DISORDERS / APARNA AND MAYA RAMADURAI
Dietician Aparna Ramadurai and her daughter, Maya, a high school student, share with host Lissa Kreisler that eating disorders are a mental illnesses which require support and resources to recover. Aparna and Maya have been volunteering at the Eating Disorders Resource Center where they work with people young and old who have the disease and help them find the support they need. Thank you to these two extraordinary women who are making a difference in our community!

Lori Duggan, Valle Monte League volunteer extrordinaire, shares stories and laughs with host Lissa Kreisler. Valle Monte is an all women's volunteer organization supporting 4 amazing organizations that specialize in mental health. Joining host Lissa Kreisler in the KCAT studio is Lisa Blanchard, Executive Director of The Grateful Garment Project. As a graduation project 9 years ago, Lisa decided to provide a resource clothing closet in hospitals for victims of sexual violence. Today this project is offered throughout California. "Returning Dignity" to victims by providing them with new clothing and necessities when leaving the hospital is Lisa's passion and mission for The Grateful Garment Project.

Host Lissa Kreisler meets a very special lady, Nanette Kinkade, who is president of the Kinkade Family Foundation with her 4 daughters. Most recently the Kinkade Foundation purchased a second home for City Team's Heritage House for abused pregnant women.
